If you’re anything like me, your hometown is an important part of who you are. I love sharing facts about St. Louis with people who aren’t familiar with the city and teaching them about my favorite restaurants and entertainment spots.
Boudoir photography is as much about showing off your personality as it is about showing off your body. Finding ways to represent where you come from as part of your shoot is just one way to make your photos feel uniquely you.
For our local St. Louis area clients, here’s a bit of St. Louis themed boudoir inspiration if you’re thinking about how you can feature the STL in your shoot.

Rep Your Favorite Local Team
Sports-themed boudoir sessions are always fun, and a great way to represent St. Louis. The Cardinals, the Blues, the City—whichever team you love to cheer for can make an appearance in your boudoir shoot.
You can wear a jersey or cap with your lingerie, or even include props like a bat or a ball. Wearing stilettos with your sports gear also makes for an interesting blend of masculine and feminine.

Feature the Fleur de Lis
The fleur de lis is a classic St. Louis icon that calls back to our city’s French roots. If you want to incorporate your hometown into your shoot but want to be less obvious about it, this simple symbol may be the way to do it.
Fleur de lis jewelry is easy to find, and can be as obvious as a large pendant necklace or as subtle as a dainty charm on a bracelet.
Include the St. Louis Flag
The St. Louis flag is a very distinctive symbol of our city, and you can use it as a prop in your boudoir shoot.
A flag is an especially great addition to your session because it’s so versatile. You can use it to create implied nudity like you would with one of our sheet sets, or incorporate it into the background of your set.

Wear Local Merch
There are tons of St. Louis–based businesses. Wearing merchandise for your favorite local spots can rep your city and also add another layer of personality to your shoot.
Here are few specific places your shoot could include:
A favorite brewery or winery
Ted Drewes
Fitz’s Root Beer
A local bookstore
Blueberry Hill
Vintage Vinyl
Famous sites like the Arch or Union Station
The possibilities are endless. St. Louis has so much to offer, and whatever your favorite feature is, there’s probably a way to include it in your boudoir session.
