A Glimpse Into the Art of Boudoir Photography — St. Charles, MO

Wondering what goes into a boudoir photoshoot? If you're considering booking a boudoir session, it's normal to want to know more about the process.

For anyone who wants to know more about the art of boudoir photography, here's an inside look at what happens before, during, and after a shoot.

What Happens During a Boudoir Shoot?

There are many steps that take place to make a boudoir shoot run smoothly, from your initial consultation to picking up your album. At Beauty and Boudoir, we follow a tried and true process for making sure you have an amazing experience

1. The Consultation

When you contact us to schedule your boudoir shoot, the first thing we'll do is set up a consultation. This is just a conversation to discuss the details of your shoot.

Have a boudoir consultation before your shoot to share information with your photographer and ask questions

During the consultation, we'll talk about:

We have a handy questionnaire for you to fill out to keep all of this information organized, too!

2. The Shoot

The day of your shoot, you'll come to our St. Charles photography studio and head to the dressing room for hair and makeup. Our in-house stylist will help you get all glammed up and ready to go.

You'll also have a chance to look through some sample albums and choose which sets you want to shoot in. If you're borrowing from the client closet, you can browse through our lingerie, shoes, and other accessories to complete your boudoir outfit.

Then it's time to get down to business! During your shoot, you're free to relax and go at your own pace. Some people feel really nervous on set, and that's okay.

Your experienced boudoir photographer will talk you through different poses and make sure all the details are perfect during your shoot.

3. The Photo Reveal

As you're leaving your boudoir shoot, you'll schedule a time to come back to the studio for your photo reveal. This is a meeting where you sit down with the photographer and look through all the photos from your shoot.

You'll also have the chance to look at some albums, heirloom boxes, and prints to decide which products you want to purchase.

Your photographer will put your photos up on a large screen for you to view. If you want, you can bring your partner to the reveal as well to see your photos for the first time.

Then you'll choose which photos you want to include in your album. Your photographer will make some recommendations, but ultimately, the choice is up to you!

4. Picking Up Your Album

Last but not least, you'll come back to the studio one more time to pick up your album or other products.
